Cancer Perspectives
Since I, Ron King, unexpectedly joined the "Cancer Club" in April, 2009, my
interest in cancer prevention and treatment is now heightened and personal.

So, here is my story on what occurred.  While treating patients on April 17, 2009,
I got light-headed and sweaty, so I excused myself from my patient.  I fainted and
did not feel better lying down.  I canceled patients and saw my physician who
referred me immediately to the E.R. at Fairview Southdale Hospital.  I was
admitted for further testing.  A bleeding and ulcerated tumor was found in my
upper stomach and a biopsy indicated it was malignant!  Out of the blue, I had
cancer even though I did not have any of the usual predisposing lifestyle factors
or existing health conditions.  Surgery was performed on April 21 to remove the
tumor.

Now for the post-surgical care component, and the
purpose of this new link on
our website.  I am doing research on both conventional and alternative
approaches to manage undetectable cancer cells and prevent metastases.  And
I thought that if I was going to spend my time and energy doing so, others might
as well benefit.  So, I will be providing whatever information I find useful and
meaningful
for myself, for all to use or not use.  Some information may be
controversial and without accepted scientific validation (although I consider
observation and clinical experience very valid), but realize
I am not
recommending any particular treatments or acting as your online physician, I am
only sharing information I find useful to me.  Please don't contact me for advice
because I am basically a reporter, not a knowledgeable doctor on cancer (yes,
this is my legal disclaimer)
.

However, I do want to make something very clear.  Holistic care, in my case at
that point in time, seemed to be inadvisable because of the risk of a
spontaneous bleed that could have resulted in a life-threatening situation.  The
conventional surgical care I received at Fairview Southdale was excellent, and I
deeply appreciate their abilities and professionalism.  That said, I believe there
are clinically effective, cost effective, and less cytotoxic alternative treatment
options out there in the world.  My preference is to not use chemotherapy or
radiation if there is another protocol that is more effective.

Visit this webpage often . . . this is a work in progress as I research and try
different approaches and then report them to you.

My daughter Rachel gave me a refrigerator magnet with these inspirational words:

What cancer cannot do:
"Cancer is so limited . . .
It cannot cripple love . . . It cannot shatter hope . . . It cannot corrode faith . . .
It cannot eat away peace . . . It cannot destroy confidence . . .
It cannot kill friendship . . . It cannot shut out memories . . .
It cannot silence courage . . . It cannot reduce life . . . It cannot quench the Spirit"
