Financial Policy:

Since our desire is to spend our limited time on patient care and education rather than
time-consuming paperwork, we ask for
payment in full at the time service is rendered.   
This policy includes patients with insurance, the exception being examinations, x-rays,  and
cleanings.  We will send in your completed insurance form for you, and you will be
reimbursed by your insurance company.   On treatment that requires outside lab work or
special materials, a down payment is required to begin treatment.   Credit cards and checks
are accepted.   On a case-by-case basis, a monthly payment plan may be able to be arranged.  
If desired, treatment plans can often be designed to phase treatment over time to budget
expenses.    
Office Policies
                                           Environmental  Sensitivities:

Our office was built with low V.O.C. materials that tend not to bother people with
environmental sensitivities.  An air exchanger operates continuously to circulate in outside air.
NOTE:  Because some of my patients and staff are environmentally sensitive, we
request
that you not use products with fragrances such as perfume, cologne, skin lotion, or
hair spray when visiting our office.  
                                            Dental  "Insurance" Plans:

True insurance allows you to see any dentist you choose without restrictions.  Be aware that
many "insurance" plans specify that you can only use dentists on their list of participating
providers or you will have NO benefits.  Some allow you to use dentists outside of their
network, but benefits will be reduced.  These are actually dental managed care programs.  
For philosophical reasons, we do NOT participate in dental managed care programs, so we
will not be on any lists.  Be aware there are some government dental plans we can't accept
because of contractual restrictions that are out of our control.  I strongly suggest that you
check with your insurance representative and/or our receptionist before scheduling an
appointment
to determine if and what your benefits would be at our office, because you are
responsible for all expenses not covered by your dental plan.

Delta Dental Insurance:  We choose to be unrestricted practitioners, so for philosophical
reasons, we are an
out-of-network provider for Delta Dental.  However, we can still treat
Delta Dental patients, but your
benefits are arbitrarily reduced by Delta Dental even though
your premiums do not change!  And because Delta Dental will only send payments directly to
you, all Delta Dental patients are expected to pay our office in full for any care, as if
insurance did not exist.  
                                         Appointments and Cancellations:

Appointments are available 8 AM - 5 PM Monday -Thursday.  We have a limited number of
Friday and Saturday appointments for those who absolutely cannot make an appointment
during normal business hours.  Our lunch break is from 1 - 2 PM.  Appointments are
reservations of our limited time.  If you fail to appear or cancel same day, that time usually
cannot be reassigned to someone else on such short notice, meaning our patient-care time
goes unused.   
If you anticipate being late, please call us so we can assess our
scheduling options.
 We charge for missed appointments, and patients who consistently
miss or cancel appointments will be scheduled only on a "standby" basis or terminated from
our practice.
