SIMPLE SECRETS

FOR A HEALTHIER MOUTH, MIND, AND BODY

By simple, I mean it costs little or no money, and it doesn’t require a paradigm shift in lifestyle.  It doesn’t mean easy!  Change is difficult for most people.

Your road to better health could begin with these simple steps:

1.  Use an oral irrigator (such as a Waterpik, Hydrofloss, etc.) daily, preferably when you are done eating or snacking for the

day.  In my opinion and clinical experience, this homecare device is significantly more effective than brushing (even with a

battery-powered toothbrush) and flossing in preventing tooth decay and gum disease.  It is so under-rated!

2.  Generally, don’t eat or drink anything that is sold in a convenience store.  If you don’t buy it, how can you consume it?

3.  When you eat, chew your food thoroughly before swallowing.  Try counting each chew and go to “20” before swallowing.

4.  Drink more plain water, which usually means drink less soda pop and caffeinated beverages.

5.  Don’t smoke.

6.  Turn off the television for at least 30 minutes each day and take a walk instead.

7.  Get an adequate amount of sleep each night.

8.  Look for any opportunity to say or do something nice for someone at least weekly.
